Technology is being used by everyone but we leave coding to engineers. Our children are growing up in the digital world need to understand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities by doing “hands-on” work. Arduino provides a path to learn both the electronics and coding to do simple projects like lighting up LEDs to more complex projects like Arduino controlled pin ball machines.
Our hope is to initiate that sense of learning and getting fun making things and coding them. We work with kids to create a fun environment and empower them to explore more. Arduino makes it as easy as possible to program tiny computers called microcontrollers, which are what make objects interactive.
We teach science along with the practical projects to reinforce the learning. Bureau of Labor Statics projects 10% growth in the number of positions available by 2028. So we need to prepare our middle schoolers and high schoolers to get ahead in this space. In addition, this will enable them to pursue STEM education.
